Alright, so I saw our game against Chelsea. What a day that was. We was down at first, you know? Chelsea had the ball most the time. They scored one.
But we just kept going. Our manager, he made some changes. He put me in later. And then things got better for us, honestly.
I got a goal. It wasn’t the cleanest one. The ball hit me and went in, but it counted same as any other. Felt really good. Then later, I got another with my head from a corner. We just wanted it more by the end, I think.
Chelsea had a lot of chances before that. Our goalkeeper, he’s great, but even he got a bit lucky they didn’t score more. Their coach said they should’ve won. But they didn’t. We did.
It means we’re right up there near the top now. Just a few points behind. Makes you believe something special is happening. We won a lot of games in a row.
We play Arsenal next. That’ll be tough. But we’ve been tough too. Chelsea has to play City soon, which isn’t easy for nobody.
Just happy I could help the team. Everyone fought so hard. When you’re losing and come back, it shows what we’re made of. We never think a game is finished. Not until the very end.
Yeah, the noise in our end after that second goal… I’ll remember that. Just this huge roar that sort of vibrates in your chest. Chelsea’s fans got real quiet then. It’s a funny feeling, silencing a place like that.
Honestly, my legs were heavy when I started. Sitting then coming on, you got to catch up to the speed quick. That first touch for my goal was too heavy, I admit. But sometimes a bit of luck is what you need. Sanchez, their keeper, he probably feels hard done by. Football’s like that.
Unai, the gaffer, he just told me to find spaces between their defenders. They was tall, but maybe not always talking. For the header, I just moved a second before the cross came in. Tielemans put it right where it needed to be. You just make a connection and hope.
I looked over at the bench after I scored. The staff and the lads who weren’t playing… their faces were just pure joy. That matters more than people think. It’s not just the eleven on the pitch. It’s everyone.
People keep saying we’re ‘resilient’. That’s a nice word. For me, it’s simpler. We just don’t like losing. Even when we’re not playing our best football, which that first half definitely wasn’t, there’s a feeling we can fix it. It’s a powerful thing to have.
Walking off the pitch, some of their players looked, I don’t know, confused. They played well for long parts. But they’re probably asking themselves how they lost. We’ve been on that side too. It’s not a nice feeling. But today, it was our turn for the good stuff.
Now we enjoy this. But not for long. Arsenal on Tuesday is a totally different puzzle. They’ll have seen this and they’ll be ready. But so will we. We’ll recover, travel, and try do it all again. That’s the life. That’s what we’re in it for.
