Wow, I just watched Scotland get to the World Cup. Never seen anything like that ending ever. My heart was beating so fast the whole time. Honestly, thinking this was my final chance to ever go.
We was all screaming at Hampden Park when that last goal went in. Thinking a lot today about my old friend, Diogo Jota. Him and me, we talked about this exact dream all the time. Such a rollercoaster of a game it truly was.
McTominay starts it all off with this amazing kick. Felt like the whole place was shaking with noise. Then things got a bit complicated for a while. Denmark, they manages to tie the game not just once.
Being sat there watching, thinking it might not happen for us. Shankland scores and everyone is happy again. But then they equalized so late, it was a real disappointment.
Then Tierney takes this shot and it was just incredible. The ball flew right past their goalkeeper. After that, McLean kicked the ball from so far away because their goalie wasn’t even there. Me and everybody else just lost our minds completely.
Our manager says the team has so much character. The road for getting here was definitely not easy. It means so much for everyone in the whole country I think. We’ve waited since 1998 for a moment like this to happen.
Now we gets to go to America and Canada and Mexico. Just imagining who we will play against is so exciting. Right now though, just going to enjoy this amazing feeling.
The sound of the anthem before the game already had me feeling emotional. You could just tell something special was in the air tonight.
Never in my life I’ve seen a bicycle kick goal from McTominay so early. What a way to get the whole thing started for us.
Honestly, when they scored to make it 2-2, my hope was getting really low. Felt like the chance was slipping right through our fingers.
Schmeichel coming up for that corner was a really strange sight to see. The ball just bouncing around and then McLean decides to just hit it.
All the lads on the pitch, their faces were just pure disbelief and joy at the final whistle. A memory I’ll keep forever for sure.
Thinking back on all the qualifying games we had to play to get here. Some tough nights were had, but it was all worth it in the end.
The manager, he must be so proud of every single player and all the staff. A real team effort this was from start to finish.
My phone is just full of messages from friends and family now. Everyone is just so happy for the team and for the whole country.
Seeing all the young kids in the crowd with their faces painted, it makes me think what this means for them. A new generation gets to see Scotland at a World Cup.
Now the real fun begins, waiting for that draw to see who we play. No matter who it is, we will be there and we will be ready.
